Mease Dunedin to Host Miles for Hope Brain Tumor Support Group |
Brain Tumor Survivor Reaches Out to Help Other Patients
DUNEDIN, Fla., (July 7, 2009) - In May 2004, Robert Gibbs went to Mease Dunedin Hospital's emergency room with troubling symptoms - suddenly he couldn't see. Those troubling symptoms turned out to be a brain tumor and that diagnosis has sent Gibbs on a journey that has led him to create an advocacy group, Miles for Hope, for brain tumor patients. His latest project, a brain tumor support group, will have its first meeting at Mease Dunedin Hospital on Thursday, July 23, 6pm, Mease Dunedin Hospital, Meeting Room 1.

Miles for Hope’s own Bob Gibbs will be hosting, what will become, a weekly talk radio show. This show was designed to fill a critical gap in bringing both awareness and support to a new platform. This show will feature weekly guests who will both inform and highlight information, new technology, and helpful hints from brain tumor survivors. This is the nations first and only brain tumor radio show.
